The pressure bioreactor PROREACT 32 HP is specially equipped for high cell density fermentation with:
- 10 bar bioreactor tank and periphery
- three-stage RUSHTON agitator with 10 kW/m³ specific power input
- special mechanical seal and barrier fluid supply for higher pressure ranges
- Battery of automatically cleanable and sterilizable high-pressure pumps with media connection via sterile crosses
- integrated, double, two-stage media sterilization filtration
- Gas mixing section
- Exhaust gas analysis system
PLANT DESCRIPTION
The PROREACT HP (= HIGHER PRESSURE) series is usually used when gas transfer rates for biocatalytic reactions are limited.
To the background:
The solubility of oxygen (approx. 8 mg/L/bar) for aerobic processes or the solubility of hydrogen, carbon monoxide or methane for anaerobic gas fermentations is very low under normal pressure. By increasing the pressure in the fermentation system, the concentration of dissolved gas in the medium can be increased significantly. The result is an increase in the driving force of the gas transfer and consequently an increase in productivity in the bioprocess is possible.
Flexible configuration and combination
PROREACT HP fermenters are customized by FRINGS and are available from laboratory scale in the liter range to pilot scale with several cubic meters volume.
PROREACT HP systems can be combined with the FRINGS TRG aeration technology. By using this special high performance gassing technology, a further increase of the gas transfer rate is possible while minimizing the necessary energy input.
