ALKOSENS – ONLINE MEASURING TECHNIQUE FOR ALCOHOL DETERMINATION

The alcohol concentration determined directly in the ACETATOR / fermenter is the essential parameter for precise control of your vinegar fermentation

FRINGS has been continuously developing this crucial online sensor since 1986. The basic functional principle is the diffusion of CH components through a semi-permeable membrane. Subsequent adsorption or reaction processes of gas molecules on semiconductor surfaces lead to reversible changes in electrical conductivity.

From this a temperature compensated resistance value is converted into an alcohol value by our automation components type ACETOMAT S7 logic/ ACETOCONTROL S7i logic.
The probe provides a continuous online signal of the current alcohol content in a measuring range of 0.1 – 6% alcohol.

FRINGS Alkosens have already been successfully installed in hundreds of ACETATORS / acetic acid fermenters.

Advantages:

  • Highest measuring accuracy at low alcohol concentrations
  • High production reliability
  • Increased efficiency (output with lowest possible residual alcohol content)
  • Long calibration intervals
  • Short response time
  • Control of all vinegar fermentation processes
  • Standardized Ø 25 mm INGOLD probe connection allows the removal of the Alkosens even when the ACETATOR / fermenter is full
  • Online measuring technique for alcohol determination
