SLUDGE STABILIZATION PLANTS

SCHLAMMSTABILISIERUNGSANLAGEN

In an aerobic sludge stabilization, the sludge from waste water treatment plants is further treated aerobically by aeration until all organic components are oxidized and a deposition without odor problems is possible.

This process has proven to be more economical than anaerobic sludge digestion because the treatment time can be shortened considerably by the self-heating of the sludge.

This requires an aeration system which intensively aerates the sludge and does not cool it down additionally by turbulence.

Our TA or TAK submersible aerators are particularly suitable for this purpose.

According to tests and operating results, a process temperature of 45°C and more is achieved without difficulty. This is called aerobic thermophilic sludge stabilization. The treatment time of the sludge is reduced to less than 5 days.

Anaerobic sludge digestion, which usually operates at 30°C, requires a treatment time of 27 days.

High circulation capacity avoids blockages

The submerged aerators used for aeration of the sludge are also well suited because they have a high circulation capacity and no clogging is to be expected with the usually quite high sludge dry weights.
