HIGH-PERFORMANCE REACTORS are exclusively used for biological pre-treatment of waste water with very high levels of contamination (e.g. yeast factories, distilleries, pharmaceutical plants).
There is always a highly loaded and often also a low loaded wastewater treatment plant downstream. The high-performance reactors are closed and operate with a constant water level. They usually have a diameter of up to 8 m and are usually at least 10 m high.
The room load in high-performance reactors can be up to 100 kg BOD5/m3/d!
During biodegradation, a relatively high process heat is generated, which can be dissipated by appropriate internals and used for heating purposes or for energy generation. This represents an alternative to anaerobic reactors, which produce biogas.
Due to the high oxygen demand our submersible aerators TRG are used here.
Aeration with a high air input can lead to foam formation, but this can be safely controlled by using our FOAMEX foam centrifuges.
